Loop

// Louise Roussière

Loop is a multipurpose sling for during and after the pregnancy.

The sling helps with pelvic rehabilitation.

Partners can help to tighten the sling.

Loop has several accessories.

In a highly medicalized context, many pregnant women complain about overly intrusive clinical monitoring. They feel like they’re not given enough information about the physical and psychological changes associated with giving birth. Pregnancy pains are seldom alleviated and pelvic floor re-education comes only 3 months after the birth. In order to solve this problem, Louise invented Loop, a comforting scarf/sling which accompanies the future mum from A to Z. It relieves lower back pain during pregnancy, starts the process of abdominal re-education after the delivery and supports the infant after its birth. Loop helps the mother carry and welcome her little one with complete peace of mind!

" Loop is a sling intended for pregnant women and new parents, with a variety of uses linked to pregnancy and the post-partum period. It favors rapid and proactive recovery after the birth, allowing families to minimize problems related to the arrival of a new baby. […] Faced with an overabundant offer of childcare articles ironically detached from the well-being of parents, Louise’s work first consisted of identifying the most difficult steps in the lives of young families then spelling out the real needs. Following numerous interviews with families, early childhood practitioners and obstetricians, her project focuses on supporting post-partum mothers, by involving partners in the process of post-natal recovery and carrying the infant. Inspired by both medical and traditional practices, Louise introduces the object to users in the last trimester of pregnancy and creates a supportive bond. Prototype after prototype, Louise developed her product until she found the most effective and sensitive version: a baby sling made from fabrics with complementary properties and featuring various accessories like buttons and stitching, to be used alone or with a partner.
