Have you ever dreamt of entering a painting? Alia responded to this desire when conceiving of «Immers». Taking into consideration the access of visually impaired people to the arts, she imagined this unique generator of experiences. Through sensory substitution, it allows the visitor to touch, listen to and «read» a work of art.
In the designing of this project, Alia worked with software such as Arduino and Processing. Each element of the painting is modelled and printed in 3D. It generates its own sound that increases when the visitor’s hand approaches. Descriptive texts in Braille complement the soundtrack. In a lively and rich manner, the work of art is thus revisited.
