A warm welcome to Naoki Kita

A warm welcome to Naoki Kita

Naoki Kita, a doctoral student in “Computer Graphics” in the laboratory of Professor Miyata at the Japan Advanced Institute of Technology in Kanazawa has joined the READi Design Lab for 10 months.
Naoki Kita is carrying out her thesis on data organization through plan filling based on the optimization of 2D and 3D patterns. It will be associated with a research project entitled “IDEA: Immersive Data Exploration & Analysis” which is backed by the regional program Recherche-Formation-Innovation Ouest Industries Créatives. This research project has been jointly undertaken by the READi Design Lab and the Polytech/Université de Nantes LS2N laboratory.
We are looking forward to welcoming Naoki Kita to our research teams. The doctoral student’s stay here is part of an ongoing partnership established several years ago with Professor Kazunori Miyata, researcher at JAIST. Our students Rémy Eynard and Toni Da Luz spent time in his laboratory in 2009 and Matthieu Tessier, a student from the READi Design Lab is currently finishing his thesis there. Grégoire Cliquet was invited to run a seminar on ses recherches in March 2016 as part of the research activities of the Banque Populaire Atlantique – LIPPI Connected Environments chair, at the international Human Design Life symposium organized in Kanazawa. He had the chance to go back in December 2016 for a conference and will serve on Matthieu’s thesis jury.
