Cameron Tonkinwise, Chair of Social Business and Co-Chair of Environmental Studies at Parsons The New School for Design, as well as Co-founder of Parsons Desis Lab, will offer a lecture on Monday September 12 at 6PM at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique.
Couch-surfing, AirBnb, car-pooling, co-working spaces, book-swapping, all these collaborative services are part of a growing alternative economy. Cameron Tonkinwise will introduce the role of design in this alternative economy. How the designer needs to shift from designing for consumption-based societies to designing for collaborative and sharing-based societies. How these services increase the sustainability of our daily lives and decrease our ecological footprint.
To answer these questions Cameron will introduce the part played by the emerging field of "Service design" and the digital revolution, in these collaborative and sharing services.
