L’École de design is looking towards space thanks to the students who won the Generation ISS competition!
The Groot project carried out by 5 students from Le Studio Montréal will be tested by Thomas Pesquet on the International Space Station!
Congratulations to Clara Jouault, Flavie Simon-Barboux, Enzo Zouaoui, Bastien Padiolleau and Jules Lerouge, MDes Design & Entrepreneursip students and thanks to Centech for its support!
The objective of Groot is to develop, through a plant, the contact between the astronaut and the person of his choice remaining on earth. As the plant evolves, the two actors gradually discover messages, questions, memories with two... Beyond the scientific side, this project also brings a recreational and living side to the space station. The students pitched their project at the Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace du Bourget, in front of a jury including the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, Frédérique Vidal, French Minister of Higher Education for Research and Innovation, and Jean-Yves Le Gall, President of the Centre national d’études spatiales.
Groot was selected amongst 80 projects. The prototype will be taken on board of the international space station.
