CREDO 2008 Exhibition at "La Cité Idéale"

CREDO 2008 Exhibition at "La Cité Idéale"

On October 11, L’École de design will show off the outcomes of the CREDO* workshop as part of an event called La Cité Idéale organized by and held at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud.

This year 28 students from 7 Cumulus member schools of art and design gathered together at the abbey from April 19 to 25, 2008 in order to think collectively about a chosen theme : “The lights of the Ideal City.” For a week these budding designers reflected upon the place of light and the part it will play in the city of tomorrow. In doing so they were supported by the design department of EDF (the French national electricity provider). The thought process they went through during the workshop was then given concrete expression through models and projections presented during a public session. During La Cité Idéale the progress and process of the workshop and the five completed projects will be yours to discover in the abbey’s magnificent setting.

The schedule of La Cité Idéale is available at : For more insight into the CREDO 2008 session, please feel free to check out the videos available on the school’s You Tube and Flickr accounts. CREDO alumni members are also welcome to join the Facebook and LinkedIn groups dedicated to the workshop.

*Cooperation in Research and Education for Design Opportunities. CREDO is a three-year program (2007-2009) jointly set up by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, the Pays de la Loire regional authorities, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud and the Cumulus association. This initiative is part and parcel of a local program called “Design’in Pays de la Loire” which aims at fostering design in the area.
