A new director for the Design Lab dedicated to health and quality of life.
With a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from Paris Sorbonne University, Clémence is specialized in regional and urban planning and public transport policies. She has been involved on different fieldwork from India to the United Arab Emirates, including Bahrein.
She joins L’École de design in September 2018 as Care Design Lab Director, a position previously held by Gaël Guilloux between 2014 and 2018.
She has been living five years in the UAE from January 2013 to August 2018, while completing fieldword and write up of her doctoral dissertation on the urban development and urban planning in Abu Dhabi and in Dubai with a focus on public policies, stakeholders and urban mobility.
She has been part of the Resource urbanism research projects lead by LSE Cities (London School of Economics) and of collective research projets such as " public spaces of Abu Dhabi for an urban classification of social interactions", funded by Abu Dhabi Education and Knowledge. She taught in Bachelor and in Master’s degree at the University Paris Nord Villetaneuse, in Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and in Abu Dhabi University.
