What is graphic design?
Graphic design is a design activity which seeks to produce visual communication combining image and text, on a printed medium or screen. The role of the graphic and multimedia designer is to design, implement and coordinate a methodology of visual communication, for diverse uses.
Areas of application
Graphic designers are involved in producing various communications media including:
- Printed media (graphic identity of a company or product, posters, books, magazines, brochures, etc.)
- Digital and interactive products (TV and film credits, websites, interactive CDRoms, etc.)
Graphic designers can work:
- in agencies,
- in publishing houses,
- in private companies and local authorities with an in-house graphic design studio.
