FAQ

How do I know if the proposed internship meets your school’s pedagogical demands?

The person in charge of internships will validate your offer (or not) depending on your proposal.
You can contact her by phone or by email to discuss the subject:

I have no background in design but have a degree in another field (eg, engineering, marketing…), can I apply to your master’s programs?

NO. A background in a field of design or interior architecture is mandatory.

Is the Master’s degree recognized in other countries?

The “Diplôme de design” delivered by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is certified by the French Ministry of Higher Education, giving it the exact same credentials and market value as University degrees (“Master 2.”) The school also applies the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), which is recognized throughout Europe. As an officially certified degree, it should also be recognized in most countries around the world.

Find out more about our degrees on the dedicated page.

I’ve already applied and have some questions or concerns about my application: who should I contact?

For the bachelor programs (International Class): please send a message to convocation@lecolededesign.com

For the master programs (MDes): please send a message to convocation@lecolededesign.com

Can I apply online before all my documents are ready?

YES, you can apply online and upload the documents and your portfolio at a later date. The file review will be organized within 15 days after the receipt of the complete application file.

Does the intern have to be supervised by a design tutor and what is the tutor’s role?

Yes. It is compulsory for the first professional internship at the beginning of the third year of the Bachelor’s degree.
However, it is not compulsory for the workforce preparation internship (second year of Master’s final internship)
The tutor’s role is to guide and train the student in order to help him/her gain new skills and put into practice the theory they have acquired during the course.

I have studied only 2 years in a field of design or interior architecture, can I apply?

YES, you can apply for our International Class, a 1-year program taught in English that will allow you to continue onto our MDes programs.

I’ve applied to the Asia Campus (Transcultural Design) and have some questions about housing, visas or internships in China or India. Who can I contact?

Our local campuses:

• in India: indiastudio@lecolededesign.com

• or in China: chinastudio@lecolededesign.com

My school does not have an exchange agreement with L’École de design, can I still study in the International Class?
